Self Victory Martial Arts – Integrating Body and Mind with Spirit!

Self Victory Martial Arts is for people who value martial arts training as a path of personal development integrating body, mind and spirit.  The term “Self Victory” implies the creation of harmony on the outside by way of looking within – a peaceful reconciliation of self and other through the awareness of one’s own self.  While people may take lessons for many reasons – self-defense, physical fitness, fun, self-discipline, or peace of mind, the training process gradually becomes a metaphor for the way we live our life, the insights and lessons learned on the mat each an integral part that informs our life as a whole.  

Private lessons are generally one hour and are flexible, based on the needs of the client involving combinations of the following: Yoga based stretching and warm-ups, strength and fitness conditioning, basic movements, rolling and falling, basic technique with attention to form and function, flowing technique, integration exercises (freestyle). Classes may also include - Traditional Japanese weapons training - Aiki Ken (wooden sword) and Aiki Jo (short staff), weapons disarming, and self-defense applications.
